Alikhanov: AI Adoption Cuts Accident Rates at Chemical and Metallurgical Plants
October 15, 2026

Artificial intelligence is helping reduce accidents at chemical and metallurgical enterprises, according to Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov.

Speaking at a forum-congress of the all-Russian public organization "Delovaya Rossiya," Alikhanov said neural networks and AI make it possible to identify problem areas and respond to them in advance. Many chemical and metallurgical companies are already using this technology, he noted, and it is helping lower accident rates at their facilities.

The minister's remarks echo his position from late August, when he said new production sites in Russia should have the highest possible level of digitalization and robotization.

According to an explanatory note accompanying the draft federal budget for 2027-2029, subsidies to Russian organizations to offset costs for robotization and automation of production are planned at 900 million rubles in 2027 and 2.556 billion rubles in 2028.
