Facebook Adds AI Features to Help You Find Answers and Make Better Posts
Facebook is rolling out a batch of new tools today that tap artificial intelligence to help users get smarter search results and create polished photos and videos with less effort. The updates aim to make the platform more useful whether you're hunting for real advice, putting together a quick video, or just playing around with your profile picture.
One of the bigger additions is something called AI Mode. It's a new way to search Facebook that pulls answers from what real people are saying publicly in Groups, Reels, and other parts of the app. Instead of a generic list of links, you get perspectives and experiences from actual users. The feature runs on Meta AI, which is powered by the company's Muse Spark model, and it's built into the feed and search functions you already use.
On the creative side, Facebook is updating its camera roll sharing suggestions. New collage cutout templates can automatically group photos from recent hangouts, and there are fresh transition effects that turn clips into smooth, stylized video montages. These suggestions are opt-in only and can be turned off anytime.
There are also new photo presets that let you change your outfit, hairstyle, or accessories with AI. Sports fans, for example, can virtually put on a team jersey by tapping the AI Edit icon in Stories and selecting "Wear It." You can also use the same tech to restyle your profile picture with a wardrobe change.
The idea, according to Facebook, is to help people do more with less effort—whether that's finding a real answer, creating something shareable, or just trying something new.
