Hennessey’s New VelociRaptor Expedition: $130K for the Same Power as an $82K Tremor

For years, enthusiasts have pleaded with Ford to slap the Raptor name on everything in sight. The company hasn’t budged, so aftermarket builder Hennessey has stepped in with its own take: a lifted, three-row VelociRaptor Expedition. But here’s the twist—this one doesn’t add a single horsepower.

Under the hood sits the same twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 found in the Expedition Tremor donor vehicle, producing 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. Hennessey’s usual party trick—extra power—is absent. Instead, the company focused entirely on chassis and styling upgrades.

The list includes a two-inch suspension lift, 20-inch bespoke wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, Brembo six-piston front brakes, steel skid plates, integrated off-road lighting, power side steps, and a redesigned front bumper. There’s also a carbon fiber intake, though Hennessey makes no claims about performance gains.

The result is a family hauler that looks significantly tougher than stock, with a wider stance and serious ground clearance. It’s more of an overlanding rig than a straight-line bruiser. Some might argue the VelociRaptor name loses meaning without power upgrades—Ford would never sell a Raptor that didn’t outmuscle the rest of the lineup. But this could be a foundation for a future VelociRaptor 500 or 600 Expedition.

Production is extremely limited. Each unit gets a serial-numbered plaque and a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Orders are open through Hennessey Ford dealers, starting at $129,950. That’s over $45,000 more than a standard Expedition Tremor, which stickers at $81,700 plus destination. The premium buys hardware and attitude—not ponies.
