Microsoft’s recent pricing overhaul for GitHub Copilot has rattled the developer community, with one Reddit user dubbing it the “Tokenpocalypse.” The shift from flat-rate subscriptions to per-token billing is a bellwether for an industry wrestling with the gap between investor-subsidized costs and the real price of running large language models.
