Nearly 41% of Russian doctors use AI at work, but 93% double-check its answers

Around 41% of doctors in Russia regularly use artificial intelligence in their professional work, according to a survey by the "Vrachi RF" professional community cited by Vedomosti.
Of those, 16% turn to AI daily or almost daily, about 14% use it several times a week, and more than 11% rely on generative models a few times a month or for specific tasks.
Trust remains limited: 93% of doctors re-check at least some AI-generated answers, and only 6% fully trust neural networks, with about 1% unsure. Distrust of the answers was named the main barrier to wider adoption (30%), followed by technical constraints such as lack of internet access, unavailable services and the need for a VPN (28%).
About 28% of respondents do not yet use AI as a work assistant but are considering it, while roughly 6% tried it and stopped. A quarter (25%) neither use AI for work tasks nor plan to.
Among doctors with AI experience, two-thirds (67%) use it to find and summarise medical information, 46% study drug data, 45% review clinical guidelines, and 39% automate calculations including medical scales, indices and risk assessments.
